writeathon fund raiser

The idea here was that people came to Readings Bookshop in Port Melbourne on a Saturday morning and spend a certain amount of time writing. 25 writers with varying degrees of talent got people to sponsor them - 10 cents a word or $10 a page, whatever they could manage - and they came along and wrote whatever they wanted. Some wrote letters to refugees for an hour or so. It was a financial success, helping to raise several hundred dollars towards RAC's running costs.
