"Refugees and Mental Health - A Global Study"
presented by Nick Haslam (Assoc. Prof. Melbourne University)

"Refugees and Mental Health," based on a study published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, analyses five decades of research into refugee mental health. The study finds factors such as economic opportunity, security, and housing have a significant effect on the mental health of refugees and their ability to cope with the trauma of displacement.

"Dumped at the Gate"
presented by Pamela Curr (Asylum Seeker's Resource Centre)

"Dumped at the Gate" examines the major problems facing asylum seekers released from detention including mental health difficulties arising from detention, homelessness, lack of access to health care, denial of financial support and the insecurity of temporary protection. "Dumped" provides compassionate and just alternatives to current policy.
